1985
Foundation of Profidata AG
Christian Widmer founded the company with a clear mission: to serve as a software house specialising in customised applications.
1990
Relocation to Neuenhof
The company grows to 20 employees and has completed numerous successful projects.
1995
Focus on the financial market
Profidata is increasingly focusing on the financial sector and investing over CHF 12 million in the acquisition of four software companies.
1998
Portfolio Management
The AMIS software (later rebranded as e-AMIS) is developed. Within just three years, prestigious institutions like UBS AG and Migros Bank are relying on the system.
2001
Launch of XENTIS
With a vision of an integrated system, Profidata begins the design and development phase of today's market leader, XENTIS.
2003
First XENTIS installation
An important milestone for the company: XENTIS goes live at ADIG in Munich.
2004
Foundation of the Profidata Group
The acquisition of itechx GmbH establishes a group of specialised companies operating under unified management.
2007
Foundation of Profidata Services AG
A new consulting and service company is founded – with offices in Zurich, Frankfurt am Main and Luxembourg.
2009
Expansion to Portugal and Romania
Between 2009 and 2013, Profidata establishes new development sites and achieved a turnover of CHF 40 million. Profidata Development România SRL (formerly FITS) has 27 employees.
2013
XENTIS in the cloud
Xcloud opens up new market segments and – as a SaaS offering – enables lean implementations without the need for in-house IT operations.
2015
Foundation of XLab
The establishment of XLab AG at Technopark Zurich reinforces technological future-readiness, with a clear focus on innovation and strategic product development.
2016
Acquisition of abraxas
Profidata expands its portfolio with FundLine and RiskLine – two leading solutions for fee and market data processing.
2017
Change in management
Roger Wildi is appointed as the new CEO. He joined the company in 1998 as head of the e-AMIS team and played a key role in the development of XENTIS. Christian Widmer shapes the strategic direction of the company as Group CEO.
2019
Foundation of Profidata Managed Solutions
The new company is established as part of the Cloud First strategy. This is a natural progression towards focusing on cloud operations and service delivery.
2020
Acquisition of Arkus FS
The acquisition of Arkus FS S.A. strengthens Profidata's position in the risk management sector – with new offices in Luxembourg and London.
2022
Relocation to Zurich-Altstetten
Profidata continues to grow and relocates its headquarters to a modern office building in Altstetten.
2023
Generational change
Marc Widmer succeeds his father Christian Widmer as Group CEO and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Together with Profidata CEO Roger Wildi, he is positioning the company for the future.
2024
Tech expertise expanded in Romania
The Near Shoring Hub in Romania is growing steadily and now has over 50 employees in one of Romania's most modern tech hubs.
2025
Growth into new markets
The Profidata Group employs around 240 people and is expanding its presence in new markets, including Ireland and the United Kingdom. Committed to innovation, Profidata reinvests one-third of its profits to deliver exceptional service and drive sustainable growth.
